MODIFIKASI MESIN PENCACAH PELEPAH SAWIT DENGAN METODE “DOUBLE CUTTING PRINCIPLE”

Abstract

In the final project of 2021 entitled "Design and Build of Oil Palm Frond Chopping Machine" the results were found in trials, that the machine can chop palm fronds with a size < 2cm, but the sticks and leaves of the palm are still > 3cm in size, and can minimize the accumulation of chopped products, and an output capacity of 131.43 kg/hour. The size of the stick that is > 2cm will be at risk of stabbing the neck/oesophagus of the livestock, so it is necessary to modify the cutting system. In one study it was said that in one machine there could be two types of blades, and the results of chopping using a screw blade type stem/leaf stem measuring <2cm. So that at the end of the 2023 project a modification will be made to the cutting system with 2 cutting principles. The planning and design of modifications to the palm frond counter machine was carried out using the VDI 2222 method approach. After testing, it was found that the machine was capable of chopping palm fronds and leaves with chopped results of <2cm.
