Abstract

Fish dryer is one of the tools used to dry fish efficiently and effectively. Fish drying is one of the traditional ways to preserve fish, especially in coastal areas that have limited access to modern refrigeration and food preservation technology. In the development of technology, an Arduino-based automatic fish dryer has been developed to improve the quality and efficiency in drying fish. The purpose of this research is to simplify, save labor and time. In addition, it can anticipate if there are weather changes. In this fish drying process, the authors use 2 methods, namely the combustion method as the main drying media and the lamp method as a backup drying media. The implementation method used in the final project is literature study, hardware and software design, hardware and software manufacturing, hardware and software testing to function properly. in this research trial, the DHT 11 sensor (temperature detector) is used to detect temperature, with a temperature of 33 - 49 ° C with a percentage error. For data collection with trials using chili, ciu fish and split kerisi fish. With a temperature of 33 - 40 ° C in just 1 day it is dry while with a temperature of 48 - 49 ° C in just 7 hours. The results of this research show that the automatic fish dryer has good performance in drying fish during the rainy season, the dryer can control the air temperature appropriately, resulting in dried fish with good quality. Further development in this technology can contribute to the fish processing industry.
