Abstract

In the process of processing palm oil liquid waste (pome), one of the methods used is anaerobic fermentation involving anaerobic bacteria to produce biogas. POME is the main ingredient in biogas production. An important stage in the process is the Distribution Box (DB), where the pH level and temperature stability of the POME are controlled. If the pH of palm oil liquid waste (pome) does not match the standard value of 5.5, the palm oil liquid waste (pome) will be mixed to reach the desired pH of 5.5 - 6.5. Meanwhile, if the waste temperature is not suitable, the temperature will be lowered by sucking hot steam. However, currently the measurement of pH levels and temperature stability is still done manually, which causes limitations in control due to time and weather. Therefore, a final project has been designed using a DS18B20 temperature sensor and a 4502C pH sensor as a means of monitoring pH levels and temperature stability. HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor is also used to measure the distance of the object. These components will be connected to the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller so that they can be connected to an Android device. With this project, temperature and pH can be monitored via an Android device. The expected test results are if the temperature < 42℃ and pH > 5.5, then no control is needed. However, if the temperature ≥ 42℃ and pH < 5.5, then control will be carried out.
