The design process was carried out systematically through several stages, including need identification, functional analysis using the Black Box method, development of alternatives via a morphological chart, and evaluation of concepts using a weighted Likert scale. The analysis produced three conceptual design variants (AVK1, AVK2, and AVK3), which were evaluated based on six criteria: functional achievement, manufacturing time, safety, durability, ease of assembly, and maintenance. Based on the evaluation results, AVK3 was selected as the best concept with the highest total score of 4.45. Manual rice separation remains a challenge for farmers as it requires significant time and effort. A rice separator machine is an agricultural tool designed to mechanically separate rice from its stalks, replacing traditional methods such as beating (gebotan) or trampling. In Riau Silip District, Bangka Belitung, the total rice field area reached 190 hectares in 2024, with a rice production of approximately 75,644 tons. With such a harvest volume, the machines currently available in the village are unable to separate the rice from the stalks optimally due to insufficient engine power, which often causes jamming and reduced torque. Therefore, we propose replacing the engine with a 11 HP motor to increase torque and separation speed. As a result, the rice stalk separator machine will have a capacity of 20 kg/hour in accordance with the desired specifications, enabling farmers to overcome obstacles and maintain the stability of their harvest yields.</em></p> Amar Ma’ruf Haafizh Arrahman Intan Permatasari Masria Omardo M. This research aims to create a color detection device that can help people with color blindness to accurately recognize the colors of objects around them. This tool uses the TCS34725 sensor, which is known for its ability to detect RGB colors, and the Arduino Mega Pro Mini as the data processing platform. In its implementation, it outputs a color signal or information through a speaker, allowing color-blind users to understand the detected colors. Tests were conducted under various lighting conditions to determine the accuracy of the tool. The results show that this tool is effective in helping people with color blindness identify basic colors, although there are limitations that need to be considered. This study presents the design and implementation of an IoT-based automatic school bell and class scheduling system, controllable remotely via a mobile application. The system utilizes a NodeMCU ESP32 microcontroller as the main control unit, a DFPlayer Mini for automated audio playback, an LED Dot Matrix display for schedule visualization, and a speaker for audio output. The user interface is developed using the Blynk platform, and all programming is conducted through the Arduino IDE. Experimental results demonstrate that the system operates reliably, rings the bell in accordance with predefined schedules, and displays real-time schedule information. Furthermore, the integration of mobile control enhances user flexibility and operational convenience. This final project aims to design and build a simple yet precise CNC milling machine that can be used for cutting processes. The main components include a frame made of aluminum profiles, spindles, stepper motors, TB6560 drivers, and microcontrollers. Assembly is carried out in stages, starting from the mechanical system to the machine control system. The machine is tested through function tests and precision tests, including measuring parallelism, perpendicularity, and precision of the X, Y, and Z axes. Precision testing is carried out using a dial indicator with an accuracy of 0.01 mm. The test results show that the machine is capable of producing X, Y, and Z axis movements. The hardware system consists of a TCS3200 sensor circuit based on an Arduino Uno microcontroller. Color sensor to detect object color and 16x2 LCD to display output in the form of information on the type of color detected. This research aims to detect colors to help people with color blindness, this tool is able to detect 3 colors in RGB space. Based on the overall test results that the color sensor reading will always depend on the ambient light intensity and the distance between the sensor and the object. However, this tool has been successfully designed and can work properly and correctly as desired. This study aims to design and develop an extrusion device to convert PET plastic bottle waste into 3D printer filament with a diameter of 2.85 mm. The design method follows the VDI 2222 standard, encompassing data collection, conceptualization, component design, prototype development, and testing stages. The system utilizes a stepper motor to drive the screw, a heater band for the heating process, and a simple cooling mechanism. Test results indicate that the device can produce filament with a dimensional tolerance of ±0.05 mm and a production capacity of up to 1 kg per hour. This study aims to design and implement a plant monitoring and control system based on the Internet of Things that integrates soil moisture and NPK sensors. The system is designed to collect real-time soil condition data and transmit it to an XAMPP server, allowing smartphone access via a web application. The research method includes hardware and software design, sensor testing, data analysis of the monitoring results and the automatic control of irrigation and fertilization. Data analysis is carried out by comparing sensor measurement results with the standard requirements of the plants. The test results show that the system can effectively monitor and control plant conditions, provide accurate information, and facilitate remote agricultural management. Along with the development, this technology is equipped with an Internet of Things (IoT) based controller. This process aims to reduce the water content in fish, so that it can extend the shelf life and increase its selling value by utilizing solar energy generated by solar panels. This automatic fish drying system is able to dry fish without being affected by the weather. The heating element and fan function as the main heat source at night, while sunlight is the source of electricity stored in the battery. This system can regulate the temperature of the drying room between 30°C to 55°C, the drying capacity of fish is up to 5 kg for medium-sized fish. In this research trial, data from the DHT 11 sensor (which detects temperature) was used to monitor the temperature, which ranged from 33°C to 49°C with a certain percentage of error. At a temperature of 48°C to 52°C, fish can be dried in 18 hours. Dried fish can be detected through the Load Cell sensor which detects the weight of the fish during the drying process. The machine is powered by a 7.5 HP gasoline engine and utilizes a shredding system composed of four cutting blades and ten beaters to break down coconut husks into fine cocopeat particles. The design process follows the systematic VDI 2222 method, which includes need identification, concept development, and selection of the final design. The main focus is to create a compact, lightweight, and easily transportable structure without compromising shredding performance. The resulting design successfully meets the operational needs of field users, particularly in terms of portability and user-friendliness. The tool utilizes Arduino Uno technology, incorporating sensors like the pH sensor and DHT22 sensor to monitor acidity, temperature, and humidity levels during the fertilizer-making process. It systematically processes organic waste through automation, controlling composting parameters in real-time for optimal decomposition and high-quality fertilizer production. The user-friendly system includes a stirrer and humidity control mechanism, along with an LCD screen for monitoring compost conditions. By effectively integrating sensor technology, the tool enhances productivity in organic waste processing and offers a practical solution for converting household waste into beneficial products. However, it currently faces limitations in its initial purchase price for small-to-medium-scale cement industries due to the use of a control mechanism system. This final project aims to design a lifting tool based on a simple mechanical system that integrates a gripper with a lever and spring mechanism. The design method includes data collection, alternative design options, manual calculations, and digital simulation using finite element analysis (FEA). Test results indicate that the design of the gripper fingers, lever, spring, and spring cylinder is within safe limits, with safety factors of 2.9 for the gripper, 80 for the spring, and 5.3 for the spring cylinder. This car is also developed as a learning medium in vocational education. This article discusses the manufacture of the front of the electric car and its testing. Electric cars use electric motors as the main power source, with energy from batteries. This project designs and builds the frame structure of the front of the electric car focusing on the steering, suspension, and braking systems. The methods used include literature study, discussion, planning, design, workmanship and testing. Before operation, tests were carried out on the suspension, steering and braking systems. The results of the suspension test without load obtained data on the shaft length of 40 mm, with a load of 60 kg the shaft length of 25 mm and with a maximum load of 200 kg the shaft length of 2 mm. The steering system test produced a turning radius of 2 meters at a steering angle of 30 ° and 2.5 meters turning radius at a steering angle of 40˚. This pushes homeowners to be more vigilant in securing their properties. Despite technological advancements, especially in the field of the Internet of Things (IoT), existing home security systems are still not fully effective. This research proposes a home security system called HERO (Home Reliability Operations) based on IoT, which operates automatically and in real-time. The system uses a PIR sensor to detect movement, an ESP32-CAM OV2640 for visual monitoring, and a buzzer as an alarm alert. To secure entry points, magnetic switch sensors and solenoid door locks are installed on doors and windows. All components are controlled by a NodeMCU ESP32 as the central processor and connectivity hub, and the system is integrated with the Blynk platform for remote monitoring and control via an Android application. This research aims to design and implement an automatic mango sorting system that can detect ripeness levels (raw, ripe, rotten) and measure the weight of the fruit. This system uses TCS3200 color sensors, a 20 kg Load Cell weight sensor, and is controlled by an ATMega328P microcontroller. A 20x4 LCD module is used as a user interface. The methods used include acquiring RGB value and weight data, classifying ripeness levels based on predetermined color thresholds, and real-time weight data processing. Testing results show that the system can accurately identify the skin color of mangos and display the weight with an average deviation of ±0.05 kg. This prototype has been proven to improve the accuracy, speed, and efficiency of the sorting process compared to manual methods. Manual sand sieving is still widely used, especially in rural areas, but it has proven to be inefficient due to its labor-intensive nature, time consumption, and limited capacity. Therefore, this final project focuses on designing and building an automatic rotary sand sieving machine with a capacity of 130 kg/hour. The machine is powered by a 5 HP gasoline engine and utilizes a belt and pulley transmission system, combined with a sand mesh size of 6 (2.83 mm). The design process adopts the Research and Development (R&amp;D) method, consisting of problem identification, data collection, design, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and user validation. Based on testing results, the machine is capable of producing consistently fine sand suitable for wall plastering in construction. One of the key advantages of this machine lies in its ease of maintenance, especially in replacing the sand mesh, allowing users to adapt the sieve size according to specific requirements. Furthermore, technical calculations such as torque estimation, motor power, angular velocity, and system efficiency have been comprehensively conducted to ensure optimal performance. However, many hospitals still use wired call systems with static monitors, limiting mobility and delaying quick responses. This study designs an Internet of Things (IoT)-based nurse call system to monitor patient conditions in real-time and send notifications to nurses' smartphones via the Blynk application. The MAX30102 sensor is used to measure patients’ heart rate (BPM) and blood oxygen levels (SpO₂), while the RFID RC522 module records nurse presence. This study aims to identify the root cause of the failure and carry out repairs using the Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) approach with the 5 Why technique. The research stages include data collection through technician interviews, visual inspections, and functional testing of the electrical system. The analysis revealed that the damage resulted from a short circuit in the C2 contactor, caused by component aging and the absence of routine inspections. Corrective action was taken by replacing the damaged contactor and auxiliary contact components. As a preventive measure, an electrical inspection checklist was developed to support scheduled maintenance. Post-repair testing showed that the electrical system functioned normally and the machine could operate according to standard specifications. Common problems caused by excessive users include the effects of radiation, headaches, insomnia, reproductive disorders, cancer, leukemia, tumors, and other personal health problems. This research develops a digital piggy bank system based on coin acceptor and ESP32 microcontroller that is able to detect the nominal value of coins automatically. The system not only calculates the total amount of money inserted, but also displays the nominal fraction inserted and the total amount of coins inserted directly through a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and sends the data to a digital application, namely telegram bot, using a Wi-Fi connection. This device is able to detect five types of rupiah coins: Rp100, Rp200, Rp500 (two types), and Rp1,000. The addition of the IoT feature allows users to monitor the amount of savings remotely in real-time. The test results show that the device can identify the nominal accurately and run stably. This prototype is expected to increase interest in saving, especially among children and adolescents, with an educational approach. The apron functions to control the automatic movement of the cutting tool along the longitudinal and transverse axes, while the tailstock provides additional support for the workpiece, especially during long turning operations or drilling. Suspension testing results showed that the shaft length without load was 40 mm, while under a load of 60 kg, the shaft length decreased to 27 mm, and under maximum load, it further reduced to 5 mm. PT. Berdikari Metal Engineering faces challenges due to a manual washing process that is labor-intensive, time-consuming, and only capable of cleaning 25 crates per day out of a 150-crate target. This study aims to design an automatic crate washing machine with a focus on high-pressure washing systems to enhance process effectiveness. The design method follows the VDI 2222 approach, consisting of planning, conceptualization, design, and simulation stages. The machine features three main zones: washing, rinsing, and drying, where washing and rinsing utilize a jet pump system. Technical calculations determined that the required motor pump power for the washing zone is 10 HP, based on the number of nozzles, flow rate, and spray pressure of 80 psi. Simulation results using SolidWorks indicate that the machine structure is safe, with stress and safety factor values within acceptable limits. The State of Charge (SoC) is calculated using a modified coulomb counting algorithm. An active protection feature using a relay is included to prevent overcharging, overcurrent, and short circuits. Test results show that under normal conditions, battery voltage ranges from 10.5V to 12.37V with an average load current of 233.4 mA. During a 30-minute charging process, the SoC increased by 10% with an average charging voltage of 14.97V. The machine was inoperable due to electrical system failure and a malfunction in the Quick Tool Change System (QTCS). A Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) method using the 5 Why analysis was applied to identify the root causes. The investigation revealed failures in electrical components such as contactors, selector switches, push buttons, fuses, capacitors, and diodes caused by unstable current. Furthermore, the QTCS could not clamp the tool holder properly due to corrosion on spindle components, bearings, and housing. The repair process involved replacing and cleaning damaged parts, followed by re-testing including geometric and functional tests. The testing showed that the machine was successfully restored to its operational state and complied with geometric precision standards. This descriptive research with a qualitative approach involves collecting primary data through direct observation and interviews with machine operators and technicians. Secondary data is obtained from the machine's repair history and related literature. Analysis using the 5W+1H and Fishbone Diagram methods reveals that the machine damage is caused by irregular maintenance, the use of inappropriate lubricating oil, the use of low-quality components, and untrained operators. The recommendations for improvement include operator training, regular repairs, the use of appropriate materials, and environmental maintenance. The system utilizes the MAX30100 sensor to detect heart rate and SpO₂, the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor to measure height, and a Load Cell combined with the HX711 module to measure weight. The ESP32 microcontroller functions as the main controller that processes and transmits sensor data to Firebase in real-time via Wi-Fi connection. Measurement results are displayed directly on an OLED screen and a web-based dashboard with a simple and informative interface. Based on testing results, the system demonstrates high accuracy, with an average accuracy of 98.83%. This study aims to design and develop a 30 kg-capacity concrete mixer machine to meet the needs of small-scale cement pot producers. The design process follows the VDI 2222 engineering design methodology, which includes stages of planning, conceptualizing, designing, and finalizing the product. The proposed design prioritizes work efficiency, ergonomic operation, and usability in limited workspace environments. The machine utilizes a 1 HP electric motor, a pulley transmission system, and a 1:10 gearbox ratio, producing a drum rotation of 30 RPM. The targeted mixing time is 10 minutes per batch, which is sufficient to produce five to six medium-sized pots. Based on the problem data, one solution to reduce the increasing amount of waste is to recycle the waste. The purpose of this tool research is to design and build an organic waste sorting and shredding machine using sensors and how to test the organic waste sorting and shredding machine using sensors with a capacity of 1 kg in stages. This research method uses the R&amp;D (Research and Development) method which starts with identifying problems and needs, literature studies, planning, design creation, testing and evaluation. From the results of this study, a design for an organic waste sorting and shredding machine using sensors that uses a 1 HP electric motor as the main drive with a pulley and belt drive transmission system was obtained. Overall, this machine functions well. Based on the results of the trials conducted in this tool research, the results of the average percentage level of the sorter to separate organic and non-organic 1kg waste in stages were 70% successful and 30% failed. This learning media is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the working principles, components, and applications of centrifugal pumps. In the working principles section, it is explained how centrifugal pumps move fluids using centrifugal force generated by a rotating impeller. Fluids enter through the inlet and are accelerated by the impeller, then released through the outlet with higher pressure. The main components of centrifugal pumps such as impellers, casings, shaft seals, and bearings are also explained in detail. Each component has an important function and role in pump efficiency and performance. In this final project, the author developed a learning media for pump disassembly and assembly to meet the material achievements in the syllabus. The initial vibration measurement of the blower was recorded at 2.28 mm/s, with the impeller weighing 2.5 kg. After adding a 50-gram trial weight at an angle of 0°, the resulting vibration was 0.956 mm/s RMS. At 120°, the vibration measured 2.99 mm/s, and at 240°, it increased to 3.64 mm/s. Based on the calculations performed, a correction weight of 150 grams was determined at an angle of 20°, successfully reducing the vibration to 0.965 mm/s RMS. Using the balancer feature method, the initial vibration value of 1.91 mm/s gradually decreased to 1.36 mm/s after six stages of correction weight application. This study aims to design and develop an automatic parking sensor device based on IoT that can detect the presence of vehicles and display parking availability data in real-time via an application. The system utilizes ultrasonic sensors to detect vehicles, an ESP32 microcontroller as the control center, and an IoT platform to transmit data to the user’s device. The test results show that the system operates with more than 95% accuracy and provides fast and precise parking slot availability information. This study aims to design and simulate an oil palm bunch shredding machine as a solution to utilize this waste as raw material for organic fertilizer. The design process is carried out using the VDI 2222 method approach, which includes the planning, conceptualization, design, and completion stages. The designed machine has a shredding capacity of 320 kg/hour using an electric motor drive system and V-belt transmission. Evaluation of three concept variants is carried out based on technical aspects, and the assessment results show that the second concept variant is the best choice. Visual simulation with SolidWorks software is used to validate the machine design digitally. The methods used are the technician interview method, looking at the manual book, looking at the machine history book and conducting direct observation on the machine. The methods included 5 Why analysis, apron disassembly, cleaning, gear-idler clearance adjustment, gear surface lapping, and re-calibration of the half‑nut lever. One common problem encountered in the field is the difficulty in identifying the working value of components such as Zener diodes due to faded markings or labels on the component body. Additionally, testing basic components, such as regular diodes, capacitors, SCRs, and transistors, is still often done manually, which is an inefficient process. Therefore, this final project aims to design and develop a basic electronic component testing device based on a microcontroller, which is capable of detecting the condition of components and displaying the test results automatically and informatively. The method used in this project includes the stages of design, assembly, and programming using the Arduino ATmega2560. The tool is equipped with two 20x4 I2C LCDs; one is dedicated to displaying the working voltage of Zener diodes, while the other displays the status of other components such as diodes, SCRs, transistors (NPN and PNP), and capacitors. The system operates by utilizing a B25 voltage sensor and the voltage divider principle to detect the working values of each component. The test results indicate that this device accurately displays the Zener diode’s working voltage with an average error of less than 10%. The main damage to the machine head was caused by the accumulation of swarf and frozen grease in the gear and machine column sections. The reconditioning process includes data collection, problem identification, root cause failure analysis using the Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and 5-Why Analysis methods, repair planning, the repair process, and testing after the repair has been carried out. The test results show that the machine head has been able to function again according to its specifications, including in functional testing, machine performance testing, and column straightness testing. This lathe has been in operation for 28 years and has experienced failures in both the cooling and braking systems, resulting in decreased performance. The repair process began with problem identification using the 5 Why method to find the root causes of the failures. The analysis revealed that the main issues were a non-functional electric motor and the absence of caliper and master cylinder components. The repair steps included replacing the electric motor, installing the cooling hose and valve, and modifying the braking system using spare parts from a Panther vehicle. Testing after the repairs showed that both the cooling and braking systems were functioning properly. In the manufacturing process, the community and small and medium MSMEs still use manual tools and labor. However, for the production process of more pempek, more time and labor are needed</em>. <em>From these problems, the idea emerged to design a pempek dough mixer machine to help the process of stirring pempek dough with a capacity of 5 kg. The method used in the design of this machine uses VDI 2222. This method has 4 (four) stages, namely analysis, conceptualization, design, and completion. The purpose of this final project is to design and create simulation-based teaching media for electrical circuits using the Simurelay application. The methods used include data collection through observation, interviews, and practical experience evaluation. The media is designed using industry standard electrical components such as contactors, relays, transformers, timers, and 3-phase electric motors. The test results showed that all circuits, including AC/DC light circuits, traffic light simulations, and CW, CCW, and star-delta motor controllers, were successfully executed according to function. Based on the results obtained, a fish grinder machine uses a 6.5 HP electric motor with 3600 Rpm as the drive system. The transmission system used in this machine is a pulley and V-belt, and uses a horizontal system with a screw as a dough crusher. From the results of the machine test without load, all components in the animal feed crusher machine function properly. The machine test with a load shows that this machine is capable of making feed with a capacity of 55 kg / hour. This tool is made from cheaper materials so that it is accessible to everyone can use it, especially those who run a company from home selling coconut milk. The results of testing this coconut peeler tool show that it is less energy, safer, and easier to lift the coconut fibre. One coconut can be peeled using this tool in about one minute. Based on field observations and interviews with operators, it was found that the previous lifting device could indeed be used to move molds, but it had a number of technical limitations. The device utilized a hydraulic system as a load-bearing mechanism, which was unable to support the mold's mass stably. As a result, the lower structure of the device deformed and came into direct contact with the floor. Additionally, the device's dimensions exceeded the size of the machine room's entrance door, causing accessibility issues within the limited space. In response to this, a new lifting device design was developed with an overhead operating system, utilizing a human-powered chain block mechanism as the primary drive. The use of existing spice mixer machines is currently hampered by high costs with a price of 5-10 million rupiah per machine and the lack of effectiveness in stirring spices. This final project aims to design and build a Pantiaw spice mixer machine with a capacity of 15-20kg two hours that is economical, efficient, and uses the VDI 2222 design method which includes the planning, conceptualization, design, and completion stages. The results of this final project show that the Pantiaw spice mixer machine designed with a 0.5Hp electric motor and a 600mm stirrer dimension with a diameter of 600mm with a stirrer shaft length of 450mm is able to increase stirring efficiency, reduce labor requirements, and reduce operational costs significantly. The results of the trial of this machine are able to mix 1500-2000 grams of pantiaw seasoning in 120 minutes with 90% of the desired texture and taste of the seasoning. We conducted an identification process and interviews with laboratory technicians (PLP) to inquire about damage to the machine. The forklift experienced electrical issues and a dead battery (ACCU), requiring repair and reconditioning. Subsequently, planning and repair actions were carried out to address the issues with the forklift. After the repair and reconditioning process, a lifting test was conducted. The Yanmar 6AYM-WST engine serves as the driving force for the dredge pump on the Production Suction Vessel (KIP) at PT. Timah Tbk, which sometimes experiences overheating during operation due to an underperforming cooling system. This final project aims to design a preventive maintenance system for the engine’s cooling system. The methods used include observation, interviews, literature study, and data collection of past breakdowns. The outcome of this study includes an annual maintenance schedule, work specifications, control cards, and machine history cards that are structured and ready for implementation. This method has several disadvantages, such as requiring a long time, a lot of energy, and cannot produce a uniform fertilizer concentration. In making this final project, the VDI 2222 design method became the method for working on this final project in order to obtain an appropriate and efficient design. From the design results obtained using this method, the liquid fertilizer mixer machine uses an electric motor as the drive on the machine. The stirring system uses a triangular plate as a stirring tool, and is equipped with a chopping knife at the bottom to crush solid waste such as animal waste and other organic materials. The trial results showed that the machine was able to mix liquid fertilizer evenly in a relatively short time of 5 minutes with 30 liters of material or liquid fertilizer being mixed. Over time and with frequent use, the Ajax FR 15 milling machine has begun to show signs of wear and malfunction, affecting its overall performance. This final project aims to identify the types of damage occurring on the machine, analyze their root causes, and carry out corrective maintenance actions to restore its functionality. Data collection was conducted through direct observation, interviews with technicians, and documentation of the machine's condition. The analysis revealed that the main issues were found in the spindle and worktable components, primarily caused by wear and a lack of regular maintenance. The corrective actions involved replacing damaged parts and readjusting critical components. Following the repair process, the machine was able to operate optimally and was ready to be used again for practical learning activities. A smart home can transform our lives, making them smarter because it represents a symbol of automatic operation. Using a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), the lighting load in the smart home prototype can also be controlled with push buttons, just like a typical home. The objective of this final project is to design a potato peeler with a capacity of 3 kg per 3 minutes and to develop a semi-automatic device to support work efficiency. The design method refers to the VDI 2222 approach, which consists of need analysis, concept development, calculation, prototype fabrication, and testing. The test results show that the machine is capable of peeling potatoes with a success rate of up to 80%. The machine operates stably and is safe to use on a small to medium scale.
