Abstract

The advancement of automation technology has driven the transformation of conventional homes into smarthomes, which are equipped with automatic control systems for electronic appliances. In its implementation, an efficient, flexible, and reliable control system is required. This study discusses the integration of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and microcontrollers in controlling smart home electronic devices, particularly in managing voltage, current, and electrical power. A smart home can transform our lives, making them smarter because it represents a symbol of automatic operation. Using a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), the lighting load in the smart home prototype can also be controlled with push buttons, just like a typical home. This PLC uses a ladder diagram as its programming language. This research aims to design a smart home control system using a PLC and equipped with a laptop interface.
