The importance of maintaining vaccine temperatures between 2–8°C in the distribution chain requires an accurate and real-time monitoring system. This study designed a prototype of an “IoT Temperature Monitoring System for Vaccine Cold Chain Storage” based on ESP32, DS18B20 sensor, GPS NEO-6M, 4×4 keypad, and magnetic lock, with MQTT communication and Node-RED visualization. The methods include literature review, hardware/software design, and functional testing to assess temperature reading accuracy, GPS coordinate precision, lock strength, and PIN input reliability. Results show an average temperature error of 1.9% (98.05% accuracy), GPS error < 1%, and the security system functions as specified. The system can automatically and in real-time monitor temperature, location, and vaccine access, supporting more efficient and accurate vaccine management. In conclusion, this prototype is effective and ready for field implementation.
