RANCANGAN DAN SIMULASI MESIN PENCUCI JAHE UNTUK INDUSTRI HERBAL SKALA UMKM

The demand for ginger as a herbal ingredient continues to rise, yet the cleaning process is still performed manually by small-scale industries (UMKM). This study aims to design an efficient and continuous ginger washing machine suitable for small-scale herbal industries. The design method follows the VDI 2222 systematic approach, consisting of planning, conceptualizing, designing, and completing stages. The machine uses an AC electric motor with a sprocket and v-belt transmission system, and has a maximum capacity of 10 kg per process. CAD simulations were employed to test the movement and efficiency of the design. The results show that the machine significantly accelerates the washing process and improves the cleanliness and quality of the ginger, offering an effective alternative to manual washing methods.
