Consistent basic maintenance is required to maintain lathe condition. This study evaluates the actual routine maintenance condition of a lathe at the Workshop of PT Bahari Makmur Sejahtera based on Autonomous Maintenance standards. A descriptive approach was used through observation, interviews, documentation, initial cleaning, identification of abnormalities and contamination sources, and analysis of standardization needs. Observations revealed accumulated chips, dust, and lubricant residue, the absence of maintenance standards, a non-functioning automatic feed handle, and an improperly aligned machine table. These findings formed the basis for recommendations covering maintenance areas, methods, frequencies, criteria, corrective actions, and responsibilities. The evaluation identified a gap between the actual condition and the characteristics of structured Autonomous Maintenance. Follow-up recommendations include standardization of cleaning, lubrication, inspection, checklists, and abnormality identification as a basis for autonomous lathe maintenance.
