Abstract

Ballistic testing is used to evaluate a material's ability to withstand high-velocity projectile impacts. One of the primary challenges in the testing process is the difficulty of installing fiber specimens, which can impact specimen stability and test accuracy. This study aims to design and develop a ballistic testing clamping device that simplifies the installation of fiber specimens. The research employed the VDI 2222 design method, including data collection, planning, concept development, design, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and evaluation. The result is a clamping device that facilitates fiber specimen installation, improves specimen stability, and supports a more effective and accurate ballistic testing process.
